Users simply need to snap a photo of the plant, and PlantSnap tells them what it is in seconds! Their patent-pending algorithm has grown into one of the largest machine-learning image recognition models ever created.
In 2018 PlantSnap made it to the top 5 of Apple’s best-paid apps and by the summer of 2020, it was downloaded over 42 million times! Currently, it is being used in over 170 countries by over 4 million monthly active users that can enjoy PlantSnap in 37 languages! Its immense popularity led to partnerships with tech giants such as Snapchat and Huawei.

The application is owned by the US company PlantSnap, Inc. led by Eric Ralls, who’s also the founder & current CEO of Earth.com, Inc. The application’s development is done by the Sofia-based Eden Tech Labs, led by Ivan Iliev in partnership with another Bulgarian tech company – the image recognition specialist Imagga.
